- a 5:30 am wake up call involving significant amounts of screaming from Zach (Who doesn't want that on their birthday?)
- a 6:30 am escape from the apartment resulting in me having to rush out the door in my pajamas and nearly lock myself out from Zach
- corn pops all over the floor (that I just cleaned yesterday) from Zach and Sarah
- an announcement that she was sick and couldn't possibly go to school from Sarah (She went--like I was going to let her stay home on my birthday)
- four poopy diapers (count them, four) from Zach with accompanying screaming and wiggling when I changed them (That is like four different and very special presents.)
- no morning nap but a long afternoon nap from Zach
- whining/crying/screaming from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm from Zach due to hunger, exhaustion, and cutting teeth
- an hour and a half nap for me during the current favorite Barbie movie from Sarah
- giggles, laughs, and smiles from Sarah and Zach
- an imaginary diamond necklace from Sarah--she saw it on a commercial and told David that was just the thing to get me for my birthday, but alas, I am not so much a diamond person

Happy Birthday, FRIEND. Hope you've had a wonderful celebration. Any chance I could borrow your new diamonds. . .I happen to LOVE precious gems.
This sounds suspiciously similar to Heidi's birthdays.
At least you weren't ignored, although peace & quiet does seem like a good alternative.
Happy Birthday (belated). Sounds like an eventful day.
