silly things sarah says

Sarah has been sick this week, and one morning she slept in until 9:30 which was absolute bliss. When I had to wake her up to go somewhere, she said,

S "Did I sleep in?

M "Yes."

S "All right, what's my punishment?"

There was no punishment. I wish she would sleep in every day--particularly Saturday and Sunday.

Driving along in the car Sarah asked,

S "Can I have an allowance?"

M "Why?" I asked trying to get to the bottom of this.

S "Wait, what is an allowance?"

M "It is money that you get when you have appropriate behavior and do chores and jobs around the house."

S "Never mind."

Now I'm not sure if I should be relieved that I don't have to provide her with an allowance or concerned that she doesn't appear to be interested in displaying appropriate behavior or assisting in chores around the house.
