rockette-tastic

We took Grandma and Grandma took us (Sarah & I) to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. I must admit I have been wanting to go since last Christmas. Radio City Music Hall is a great venue. The bathrooms (I mean the Ladies Lounge) were awesome with these fancy green sinks (I wanted to take a picture but refrained) and a first and second lounge before you got to the actual bathroom proper. The first lounge was for sitting and relaxing, and the second lounge was for powdering your nose. We did neither of those, but I enjoyed walking through them and feeling fancy. There was a spectacular Christmas tree of sorts hanging from the ceiling made of 10,000 Swarovski crystal ornaments. There was a lot of kickline action. Sarah sat on the edge of her seat nearly the entire performance, and I thought she might clap her little hands off. She loved the 3-D part of the show where Santa flies his sleigh from the North Pole to NYC where he sees all the sights before stopping at Radio City Music Hall. I enjoyed watching her stick her hands out to touch the 3-D images. She was thrilled with the Nutcracker as well. My favorite parts were the parade of the wooden soldiers and the double-decker bus tour of NYC at Christmas time. The Living Nativity was very well done and complete with live camels, sheep, goats, and a donkey. I was glad that they included this in the show as so often people are foregoing this part of Christmas in favor of Santa Claus. I didn't realize until the end that I should try taking pictures with the flash off, so although I wish I had more, I only have a few pictures of the show itself. (I'm pretty sure there were signs saying to not take any pictures, but people were taking pictures with the flash left and right.) We'll probably never go again, but I'm so glad we had the opportunity to go this year. It was spectacular!

Yeah for the arts that bring us such enjoyment during the holidays. I saw the Hall when I was there last year, but will put it on my list for next time to visit those bathrooms.
