show and show and tell and tell--red

Each week in Sarah's class, they have show and tell. They did each of the letters of the alphabet, and now they are doing the colors. I told Sarah on Tuesday that the color for show and tell this week was red. On Thursday night, I asked her what red thing she was going to take to share. She whipped out a box full up to the tip-top with red junk that she has been gathering without my knowledge all week long. There's the lovely sparkly hat she got from a street vendor in Manhattan. It used to play music until her father got sick of it and removed the music-making wires. Notice the red pipe cleaners and random red ribbons she lifted from the craft supplies. She went through all of her sparkly foam letters sorting out just the red ones. I especially like the electric outlet cover just below the pipe cleaners. The markers, magnetic clip, letter e and v magnets are a nice touch. She has also included a cup from her kitchen and a bottle of red gatorade. My very favorite, however, are the three teeny tiny lego pieces on the bottom left. Fortunately, her teachers were kind enough to show and show and show and show and tell and tell and tell and tell about all of these treasures. I think we'll slow it down a bit next week for show and tell and only take one item. I hope so, anyway.

I don't think I have laughed so much at one of your posts before. I love how good she is at stealing.
