and I grumpily lay down by Sarah when it was time for her to go to bed. She must be a little bit nervous because she was chattering up a storm. I finally left when she just wouldn't stop talking, and within minutes she was finally asleep. She's been getting excited over the last week or so for school to start. [I've been getting excited over the past five years for school to start.] Every day she asks how many days left until school starts, and then we count them down. And now it is finally here. Her backpack is filled with kindergarten essentials. Her lunch and snack are ready. I need to make a little note covered with stickers to tuck away in her lunch bag with a good luck message. Fortunately, she can read, so I can actually write her a real message. Her outfit is all picked out and set out for her to slip into in the morning. Of course she will be wearing a skirt. Of course there was an argument over what she will be wearing. She is bathed and brushed and hopefully all ready to go. She has requested scrambled eggs for breakfast.
And now I'm nervous. Will she be well behaved? Will she make some cute little friends? Will she be too bossy? Will her teacher like her? Will she cry? Will all day be too long for her? Will she follow directions? Will she share? Will she be happy? Will she like kindergarten? Will she be scared to walk away from us and go in by herself? Will she cooperate to get out of bed in the morning? What will be her favorite thing about school? I can hardly wait to find out.

We hope she has a "good teacher"! We are excited she is starting Kindergarten.
I can't wait to hear the stories from the first day!!
It's bittersweet when it finally arrives & you wonder, 'Did I do enough to prepare her?'
