We went to get an oil change today. I realize that this likely sounds totally mundane and boring, but I assure you that it is not. Until today I had never actually gone to a store to get my oil changed. It's always been a dad, husband, father-in-law kind of thing for me. But now I get to take charge of these kinds of things--when David tells me to go and get them done, anyway. Honestly, I had been dreading going as it seemed such a pain. In reality, it couldn't have been easier. We didn't even have to get out of the car. Sarah and Zach enjoyed it from the comfort of their carseats. We had some snacks. I read Sarah some Ramona the Pest. We were in and out in under 15 minutes. At one point near the end I turned to Sarah and said, "This isn't so bad." She replied, "It's actually kind of boring mom." A couple thousand miles and we'll be back--with more snacks and books.
