family home evening

I've been trying oh, so hard to do better at doing family home evening. And to be honest, it is tough. Tonight it went something like this:

mom: "Okay, it's time for family home evening."
sarah: "Why do we have to do that?"
mom: "It's just something we do now."
sarah: "I already know everything about the church."
mom: "Like what?"
sarah: "I can even go up to the nursery with my eyes closed--except for the stairs."

So we learned about Daniel and the Lion's Den. Sarah even told most of the story. I suppose she does know everything about the church.

Sometimes Laura threatens to have family home evening for us too. I share many of Sarah's thoughts. I usually have to keep my eyes open all the way to the nursery though.

You know, Sarah has a point.

I usually keep my eyes open just so I don't step in anything on the way to nursery. Heidi got to clean up some poor tyke's vomit the other day. Who knew the building had an emitus cleanup kit?
