It's not clear to me why field day was scheduled a month before school gets out, but it was. And we went. Sarah had a mostly wonderful time (minus the basketball activity of which she was not a fan). The white team (Sarah's class) had a wonderful time participating in relay races, throwing balls, jumping in hoops, hopping in potato sacks, jumping over jumpropes, scooting on scoot boards, and playing water games. Even Zach joined in the fun a time or two in between his adventures on the playground. I think the tug of war was my favorite part with all those little first graders tugging their hearts out.
