it's a...

Well, it's a ten ounce, thumb sucking, nearly twenty week baby. And contrary to my bizarre dream that woke me up in a near panic at 3:37 am (lasagna as a late evening snack is apparently not such a good idea) and kept me awake the rest of the night in which a cardiovascular surgeon had to be called in to consult during my ultrasound due to the fact that the baby was actually a mummy, everything appears to be just fine. All parts accounted for and working in the proper fashion. Also not a mummy. Oh, what gender is it? We didn't find out. Since we already have one of each and may not have any more, I kind of like the idea of finding out whether it is a girl or a boy on the day it is born. You know, the old fashioned way where the baby is delivered and with great excitement and anticipation on the part of the parents and everyone else, the doctor says, "It's a.....!" And somehow David was willing to go along with my crazy scheme. So start buying yellow things, I guess, unless you want to buy both pink and blue and then have to return one later. I do have a backup plan, however, in case I lose my nerve.

Congrats!! So excited for you guys. We didn't find out with Abbie because we already had one of each. It was fun until the end when i was getting super antsy and nesting and didn't know which set of clothes to wash. So exciting!

Yay! Congratulations! I thought about being surprised too, but knew McKinley would need lots of reassurance if it was a boy...which it is...and she did. But I think it would be lots of fun to be surprised on the big day!

Exciting! I'm quite glad there's no mummy involved.

That's brave. I still had to know with Ivy because it would have eaten me alive for 5 months (the curiosity, not that baby). Congrats on the non-mummy!
