so this is second grade

Sarah headed off to her first day of second grade this morning all attired in her outfit of choice laid out so carefully last night. She asked for skinny ponytails and was ready to go long before it was time. With her backpack and her umbrella she was ready to face this wet and rainy day. She wanted to go to the bus stop all by herself, so we stopped a short way back from the stop and let her go on alone. And she was off. It was too rainy to allow for pictures over at the school as the kids rushed off the bus and into the school.

The day didn't go particularly smoothly. Her two best friends are together in another class. Fortunately, she has a neighbor friend and a ward friend in her class. She didn't get the teacher she wanted. And the bus took forever (an extra hour) getting home and she was starving. It can only get better from here...
