We rounded up some tickets and headed out to a Yankees game on Tuesday evening. We are not baseball fans, but there is something about being at a major league baseball game in a huge stadium like Yankee Stadium. It's very exciting. It was also quite chilly after raining all day. Fortunately, the rain stopped before the game, and there were enough paper towels in the restroom to dry our bleacher seats. Sarah enjoyed the game and kept wondering when the hot dog man was going to come. (He never did, and we were forced to go to Papaya Dog on the way home.)

We did, however, get some cotton candy. Zach wasn't quite sure if he liked the stuff as evidenced by the funny look on his face in this picture after trying a little bite.

Sarah loved the stuff. After sharing with everyone, she licked away to her heart's content. No cotton candy for me, thank you very much. It's not worth the calories.

Here is proof that Zach does get out of the stroller occasionally. I did take him to the game in the stroller simply because I don't like carrying the chunk around in the Snugli. It worked out perfectly as the stadium was only maybe 20%-30% full due to the rain and chilly weather. Strollers are allowed but are supposed to be folded up and placed under your seat during the game. Since there were so few people around us, I simply placed his stroller at the end of our row, and he enjoyed a significant portion of the game in the comfort of his warm and cozy Maclaren and Bundleme throne. They played the Baltimore Orioles and lost 12-2. It didn't look good when the Yankees pulled their pitcher in the first inning after allowing 7 runs. Yikes! We stayed until the top of the 7th inning. The best part of the game was the fight after the pitcher threw the ball at the head of the batter and all of the players rushed the field. You better believe we were standing on the benches cheering. Then we came home and watched it several more times on the TiVo! That, my friends, is baseball at its beer-guzzling, sunflower-seed-spitting, rowdy, white trash best!

And to think that Jamie Oliver paid $500 for his ticket to a Yankees game this week, also. Who had the best experience?
We were at the same game! Although we were up above right field in the Tier. I totally loved the part when all the players from the bullpen rushed the field to support their already-fighting teams! And don't forget A-Rod's homerun. That was sort of exciting...
