in the thick of things
We're laughing and talking, museuming and walking, taking trains, buses, and boats, shopping and spending, exploring and enjoying, sitting and sightseeing, people watching and snapping photos. We come home every night exhausted and still stay up late to talk some more. The apartment is a mess. The dishes aren't done. I'm trying to sneak in an occasional load of laundry. Things are getting clean but not folded. I'm seeing some things I've seen before and some things for the first time. Who knew that the NY Public Library was so incredible? I'm glad we decided to stop by. The Statue of Liberty is breathtaking up close at night. We've only been lost once, and it turns out there was great stuff to see there as well. I had my first casualties on the subway. Everyone got off but two. Fortunately, they were together and smart enough to get off at the next stop and come back. I didn't realize how much I missed these guys until they were here. It will be hard to send them home. We're right in the thick of things with so much more to come. We've got the Today show, downtown, more bridges, and then on to Washington DC. We're having so much fun!

That sounds really fun - I'm glad to hear that your first casualties are doing well :)
Was the first casualty Ryson? The two of them may have just wanted some more time together.
So what time did you get there? It looks pretty early.
