good news and bad news

good news: Corn on the cob was on sale at the grocery store.
bad news: Sarah wanted to have some for breakfast. I allowed it.

good news: The pool in our building opened today for the summer, and we spent three hours there swimming and playing.
bad news: I now have a nasty sunburn. I seem to be incapable of adequately applying sunscreen to my back and shoulders.

good news: I discovered that if I simply changed the batteries in the Zhu Zhu pets they would work again.
bad news: Now the kids are back to fighting over them. And I am constantly finding (and nearly stepping on) the little monsters all over the floor.

good news: Operation Get Rid of the Food Storage is going (mostly) well. We are using things up left and right which is reducing our need to go to the store which is decreasing the money I spend.
bad news: We are now out of pepper, pancake mix, tomato sauce, and Prego. We may have to restock these items prior to Operation Move.

good news: Bbq sauce of the variety we like was on sale this week, and I had coupons. That brought the price to $.66 per bottle.
bad news: I bought nine bottles. Now including the two we already had, we currently have 11 bottles of bbq sauce. Also, this is in direct opposition to Operation Get Rid of Food Storage.

good news: We like to barbecue things.
bad news: We don't have a grill.

good news: The swimming suit I want is on sale. With free shipping.
bad news: Purchasing it now will put me over budget for the week. It better be on sale still next week.

good news: I took a nap today for 45 minutes.
bad news: During said nap, there were 54 interruptions. Actual shut-eye time was 32.6 seconds. Most interruptions involved Sarah reporting that she was dying of hunger despite the bowl of macaroni and cheese and four chicken nuggets she had eaten 30 minutes before. Other interruptions involved suspicious crunching sounds later discovered to be Zach and Sarah covertly eating potato chips, Zach and Sarah sneaking over to close the door several times to muffle suspicious crunching sounds, arguments over who got to choose which movie to watch, Sarah requesting assistance on how to operate the microwave to reheat rice pudding, and train noises by Zach.

good news: We spent two hours at the park and enjoying the lovely weather this afternoon.
bad news: The kids were so tired after all the outside time that meltdowns occurred during the drive home from the park, at the restaurant where we stopped for take-out, during the eating of the dinner, and during bath time.

good news: Both children are bathed and clean for church in the morning.
bad news: Somehow a disaster occurred during bath time resulting in the shower curtain falling on Zach's head. Do not call me in a panic. He is fine.

good news: The kids went to bed early. We all threw in the towel at 7:41 pm. Everyone was more than ready to go to sleep.
bad news: They'll probably be up at 3:00 am all because they went to bed 19 minutes early.

good news: I can now go to bed early.
bad news: I can't sleep.

You are so funny Alicia! I laughed out loud at the comment about the nap, totally can relate. I'll have to tell Eric how much you saved on BBQ sauce, he will be proud.
