zach, the friendly guy

Zach has recently become quite a friendly chap. In the past he has had a tendency to be more reserved around other people or to keep to himself in general. Now, he is out to make friends-with anyone. At the park, he goes up to other children and says, "Hi, I'm Zachie." It might be the cutest thing I have ever seen. He is increasingly interested in interacting with other children and seems more aware of them around him. His friendships with his trains continue. He talks to them as if they are real. He wants to take them places with us and always makes sure they are okay after they have accidents with one another. He is also more friendly toward other adults. While in the past, he often shied away from adults around him, he is more open to engaging with them. My favorite friendly behavior from Zach, however, is his desire to be friends with the animals that we see. He always wants to befriend the dogs that we see on the plaza of our building. Despite my constant attempts to convince him that dogs don't eat grass, he continues to try to feed them grass. This week he also tried to feed some dried leaves to a number of deer that we saw at the park. He was quite confused when they shied away from his attempts to play. He keep chasing them and yelling, "Where are you going, deer? Don't you want some breakfast? Come back!" He thought for sure that he had made some lifelong friends in the geese at the pond. They started toward him, so he went to greet them. Unfortunately, the geese were only a few days old, and the adult geese were not thrilled to have some little munchkin play with them and rushed them away. Zach, of course, followed close behind yelling, "Hey, come back, geese! Where are you going?"

Love the pictures. When he's older you can mess with him and say you found him in the jungle being raised by wolves, but he was so cute you decided to bring him home.
