I like brownies. I like bar cookies. I like chocolate cake and other assorted dessert products. I don't think this comes as a surprise to anyone. I especially like the middle pieces. If the puzzle pictured above was actually a pan of brownies, the missing piece would be the one in my tummy. I don't really like edge pieces unless they are on a pie with a yummy crust or are the only pieces left. Since I'm usually the one who makes the dessert, serves up the dessert, and cleans up the dessert, I figure I can engineer it so I get a middle piece. I haven't actually gone so far yet as to take the middle piece out for myself while leaving the other pieces behind, but someday I might. If I come to your house for dessert, I would appreciate it if you would take my fondness for middle pieces into consideration and send a middle piece my way.

Mark cut the middle out of the pan of brownies once -- I couldn't believe he'd take the coveted center like that! I'm sure I pitched a fit and ever since then he's been very good about sharing the center goodness.
We will have to fight over the middle piece! There are times I've passed up a brownie because it came from the edge.
I'll definitely keep that in mind next time I make dessert for you.(:
I'm a middle piece kind of gal myself, and I guess I just thought everyone was like that - but recently, I saw a brownie pan that was kind of snakey shaped. It was so every piece could have an edge! And that was the selling point! I couldn't believe the idiocy. But then I wondered if I was the weird one. Obviously, that person probably doesn't sell a lot of those pans.... :) It's nice to know I'm not alone.
