It snowed here yesterday. After snowing for most of the day and the previous night, there was an accumulation of maybe three or four inches. When the snow finally stopped, the store owners and supers went out to start shoveling the sidewalks. According to a friend of mine, there is a law or rule of some kind that requires stores and apartment buildings to shovel their snow or risk a fine. I am just glad I didn't have to shovel it. Then last night at 3:00 am, Sarah, Zach, and I all awoke to the sound of someone shoveling snow. I looked out the window to find two city employees shoveling the stairs and sidewalk outside our building. Ah, thank goodness for New York City taxes! After feeding Zach, I promptly went back to sleep as did Sarah and Zach--snow shoveling and all.
