letter of the week


We've got lots of activities planned for m week, and I'm hoping we'll have the time and energy to get them all done! Please feel free to send us some MAIL if you get a chance.
  • making a mailbox--I'll be giving her some mail in it every morning when she wakes up
  • doing a mazes book
  • monsters--reading Go Away, Big Green Monster and other monster books, drawing pictures of monsters, making monster masks
  • reading mythology stories (she loves these!) about Medusa and the Minotaur and others
  • eating macaroni & cheese
  • playing Mother, May I?
  • doing math--most likely with m&ms
  • making milkshakes
  • making a menu for dinner & ordering from it
  • talking about our mouths
  • monkeys--reading stories about them, playing with a barrel of monkeys
  • making monkey bread
  • reading magazines
  • making marshmallow snowflakes with mini marshmallows and toothpicks
  • marble painting
  • making melted crayon pictures
  • playing with magnets
  • m&ms--counting, sorting, making patterns, but mostly eating
  • sending mail & maybe receiving mail
  • listening to music
  • making mini muffins and regular muffins
  • having a movie night complete with popcorn, drinks, and movie candy
  • reading Mother Goose books
  • playing matching games
  • playing memory--both the actual game as well as showing her a tray of things and then taking one away to see what is missing
  • reading The Mitten and then making mittens
  • sorting and counting into muffin cups
  • me--talking all about me
  • singing the months of the year song--talking about March & May
  • making masks with paper plates
  • talking about moms and reading books about them too
  • money
  • making a mural
  • going to a museum
  • making a map, reading a map
  • using measuring cups
  • making a mosaic

Bryn was all over the mail Sarah sent her, so I'm sure she'll be thrilled at the chance to reciprocate.

Is there a particular series of mythology that is good for kids? Maybe it will spark my memory of all my Greek mythology classes in college.
