first day of school

By some miracle, I found a reasonable preschool program for Sarah. She will be attending 5 days a week for 3 hours a day. I will be paying less than $100 per month. There are 3 teachers and maybe 20 kids in her class including 4 Sarahs. By another miracle I got her signed up after a disastrous day involving a parking ticket and a late arrival to the registration. This morning I sent her off to her first day of preschool. There were no tears from any of the involved parties. She was super excited to go and, of course, had to wear a skirt for the occasion. I enjoyed my morning off by doing a little shopping at Costco without once having to tell Sarah to get off of the cart, that no, she couldn't ride in the cart, that she needed to be quiet, that I didn't have any more snacks, and that we couldn't buy that--or that, or that, or that, Or That, OR THAT! It was heavenly. When I picked her up and asked her how school was, she replied, "My teacher bossed me around." Ummmm, get used to it, sister. That's what school is all about. Maybe mom doesn't look so bad after all.
