baby minus binkie and blanket day 1

I've been feeling a little pressure lately to rid Zach of the binkie and the blanket. David asked when "we" were going to do it, and I decided that August 1st would be the day. He is nearly two. Let's be serious. The impetus was really that we were down to one binkie, and I wasn't going to buy anymore. The poor fellow only gets them now for naps and bedtime. I admit I've been rather nervous as he has been very attached. Today went extremely well. It helped that he was very busy most of the day at a barbecue at the park with a water feature. And we survived the whole day.
