a boy and his/my toothbrush

Zach loves toothbrushes. He brushes away several times a day. Perhaps our savings in his lack of cavities due to excessive toothbrushing will make up for future outrageous expenditures for Sarah's cavity-inducing lack of brushing (she frequently lies about it) or as quickly as humanly possible brushing techniques. Unfortunately, he seems to really like my toothbrush. It is a flashy red color. I caught him several times with my toothbrush on route to his mouth and confiscated it each time. I finally took one for the team, however, and donated it to him after he dragged a chair into the bathroom, climbed on the counter, and attacked it with a vengeance while I was engaged in some other kid-fighting endeavor--likely picking up the trains for the umpteenth time. I mean, who wants a toothbrush their kid has chewed on?! I bought him one of his own, but mine seems to have a little something extra (germs) that he just can't get enough of. I have since caught him stealthily sneaking into the bathroom on several other occasions to commandeer my new toothbrush, but locking the door seems to have put a stop to that. His father's toothbrush has also been in danger of the toothbrush thief a few times as well. I now have all toothbrushes under lock and key. Apparently, this child doesn't realize that toothbrushes don't grow on trees.
