a little bit of broadway

We made the trek into the city today to view a little broadway action in Bryant Park. Members of the casts of several broadway shows perform several numbers here weekly on Thursdays each summer. We heard songs from Mamma Mia, Billy Elliott, Altar Boyz, and something else that I can't remember the name of. Rather than fulfilling my desire to partake of some broadway like I was hoping, it really made me want to go even more. There was a slight drizzle (more like a mist) which actually made the day more enjoyable as it cooled things down significantly and provided for a colorful umbrella parade. At one point, John Stamos (of Full House fame--that sure takes you back to the late 80's) came out to drum up excitement for his upcoming debut in Bye Bye Birdie. That was pretty exciting! When we first arrived, Sarah said, "This is what we came here for?" Fortunately, she soon saw the vision and became more excited about the show tunes.
