I realized several weeks ago while reading to Sarah in the evening before bed that she was reading along with me. And catching any mistakes I might make. And pointing them out to me. She's helpful like that. So we made the leap to reading chapter books. I was getting kind of sick of Henry and Mudge and Amelia Bedelia and Frog and Toad anyway. And we were running out of easy readers at the library. We started our chapter book adventure with the Rainbow Fairy series which I have already read to her. She loves it, so I knew she would be more than motivated to read it. I was right. Tonight she read the first two chapters and was devastated when I told her it was time to stop for the night. Now we just need to work on transferring her from a movie bug to a book worm.

Um, I think she's already a bookworm -- kinda like her mom! :)
Hmm, the rainbow fairy series huh? I'll have to try that. McKinley just wasn't into Junie B. adventures (I thought they were adorable), but she LOVES fairies!
