for the love of laundry

Zach loves to do laundry. We're talking serious love. Whenever he hears the water filling the washer, he comes running ready to help. He puts his chair in position near the washer,
selects an item to put in the washer (usually from the wrong pile and then has to be redirected),
climbs onto his chair with his laundry item, slowly feeds it in to the washer as he likes to watch the washer pull it in,watches until it is gone, and then goes back for more.
It's actually surprisingly helpful, and I'm wondering when I can put him in charge of the laundry around here. Most of it is his, anyway. Only occasionally do I find that he has snuck in a few darks in the whites or some other such troublesome combination. He does put up a bit of a fit when we have to close the lid and actually let it wash. Especially when it is the last load and he knows there will be no more loading for that day. Now if I could just get him to help out with the folding in a manner a little less climb on the folded laundry and make a big mess and a little more actually folding and putting it away.
