what to do?

What do you do on a week when your daughter has three days off of school? Well, you could (a) pull your hair out. You could (b) send her away for the week. You could (c) exhaust all of your playdate options. You could (d) go on vacation. You could (e) watch a lot of tv. You could (f) send her to school anyway. Or when grandma calls and asks if she can come and visit with two friends, you could (g) say, "Yes. How soon can you make it?" We went with option g. And a visit to New York would simply not be complete without a visit to the Brooklyn Bridge. We went. We walked. Sarah scowled. Zach slept. And then we had Chinese food in Chinatown. And a successful day out of school.
