For this little boy all the world is a track. Recently, his trains have enjoyed a ride along coal covered tracks (black beans), a lovely track hand-drawn by me, the Candyland board while we were trying to play, a collection of foam blocks, and the plaid (perfect lines for driving) material under our Christmas tree. Other tracks his trains have traversed lately include the short wall on the way to Sarah's school, the board of our Blokus game (again, while we were playing the game), a wooden block track he fashioned himself, out of the elevator across the tiles and to the door of our hallway in our apartment building, and along the metal frames of the chairs at church. And sometimes they ride on the actual track of which he has miles and miles and miles! I must admit that the Candyland track took the cake for me. He has practically comandeered the game while Sarah has lost all hope for a successful, train-free game.
