the binkie crisis, part 6

We spent the evening setting up for the ward Christmas party. We were there for hours, and knowing that we wouldn't be home until late, I took Zach's blanket and binkie along hoping that he would fall asleep at the church or on the way home. He didn't. I neglected to mention that this was our last binkie known to Zach. And he found it in the diaper bag, put it in his mouth at the church, and apparently lost it. When we arrived home and Zach was still awake, I discovered there was no binkie anywhere to be found. Crisis! How will he ever go to sleep? Have I mentioned that he hasn't been sleeping well since the beginning of October when we took the side off his crib making it into a little toddler bed. He hasn't. I often have to lay down beside him until he finally drifts off. This has been a nightmare. So here we are with no binkie, and I can tell things are going to not end well. So David drags him into the bedroom, tells him there is no binkie, and tells him to go to bed. And he does. We are binkie-free. And he now goes to sleep on his own. With a number of peeks out of his bedroom and some crying, but on his own! I hate to admit it, but David was right!

NO WAY! Eric was right about it too with Bianca, meanwhile I kept a secret binkie in my closet for "emergencies" after we took hers away. Thank goodness for husbands, .. sometimes. (: haha.
