counting down

I have a weakness for advent calendars. I have more than I should, and I still want more of them. There's just something about the counting down that I really enjoy. I confess. I like having something to look forward to. Last Christmas I saw several ideas for this activity advent calendar, and I decided it would be the perfect thing for Sarah. And me. So I whipped it up, and have been brainstorming for months of Christmas related activities that we could do to get us in the Christmas spirit. And to keep Sarah busy. We started today. Each day after school she gets to open a box and find out what the special activity is for that day. The best part is that I put the paper with the activity written on it while she is at school each day, so I can manipulate it to suit my needs. If I'm not feeling ambitious, we can do an easy activity. If I'm full of energy, I pick something more involved. Also, I knew the little stinker would try looking ahead, so it nipped that problem right away. She did. Problem averted. Point for me.

"If I'm full of energy?" I haven't seen you full of energy in 4 years and 9 months.
