day 9: christmas book countdown

I've seen a lot of people who have this tradition--wrapping up their Christmas books and opening one to read each evening leading up to Christmas. With my love of all books (but especially picture/children's books), this is my kind of tradition. So I'm starting it. I talked my mom and sister into hauling all my Christmas books out when they came to visit recently. I counted them up (15), wrapped them, and stuck them in a basket. I added an extra day to account for the new Christmas books the kids will be getting on Christmas Eve, did the math, and discovered today was the day to start opening them up. Eventually we'll have enough to do one every night for all 25 nights. And probably more given my Amazon addiction. Sarah couldn't wait until evening and just ripped into one mid-afternoon. We've been reading it all day. Now I must come up with a plan to prevent future mid-afternoon openings.

You need to get Cajun Night Before Christmas. One of our all-time favorites.
