mornings with zach

This week we explored the Fort Lee Palisades Parkway Park across the street from us at the top of the Palisades. While we have been there several times for the view of the bridge, I never realized there was stuff beyond the little museum they have there. During the Revolutionary War, the Patriots shot cannons from both Fort Lee (where we live) and Fort Washington (in Manhattan where we used to live) across the Hudson River to prevent the British from sailing up the river and gaining control. This park is where the cannons were placed on our side of the river. I enjoyed the lovely views of the bridge, the crisp fall air, the nice walk, and the breathtaking fall leaves and flowers. Zach enjoyed the paths to roam free on, the rocks to climb on, the railroad ties to walk on, the acorns to gather and throw, and the deer that he chased around before it finally got tired of his antics after about ten minutes and wandered off.

Cool pictures Alicia. My favorite is the bridge with the looking machine thing in the foreground!
