ward halloween party

Everyone wanted to have a Halloween party this year, but since we currently have no Activities Committee and no one wanted to be in charge, guess who got to plan the Halloween party? And found out that she was in charge of it on Wednesday? You're looking at her! I suppose it's one of the blessings of being married to the Bishop. I scrambled for a bit and came up with the following:

Activities
  • decorate a sugar cookie
  • make a toilet paper roll mummie
  • decorate your (paper lunch sack) treat bag
  • make a paper plate jack-o-lantern
  • make a ghost pop
  • make a witch's hand
Games
  • candy toss
  • halloween walk--think cake walk and when music stops, everyone on the right color gets some candy
  • run around like crazy sugar-filled monsters--oh, wait, that wasn't actually planned
  • put the face on the pumpkin
Food
  • veggie tray--for those who care to eat healthy on this holiday
  • brownies
  • carrot cake cupcakes
  • popcorn
  • apples and caramel apple dip--that I forgot to put out
  • assorted drinks and sodas
  • chips and salsa
Pictures
  • not a one as I forgot my camera--Give me a break. There were a million other things to remember like crayons and glue and scissors and candy corns and tablecloths and ribbon and googley eyes. Maybe I can convince someone who was there to send me some of theirs.
Costumes
  • Sarah dressed up as Barbie of Swan Lake.
  • Zach dressed up in his pajamas as a grumpy-two-year-old-who-didn't-take-a-nap-and-woke-up-at-6:30-in-the-morning-and-refused-to-put-on-his-tiger-costume. It was a great costume. Everyone loved it. Especially the screaming part. If you want to see it, I'm sure he'll be available again tonight for parties or trick-or-treating. I'll be more than happy to lend him (I mean it) out!
Although it was a bit hairy at first getting everything put together, we had a good time. Sarah thought she was in charge and proceeded to boss everyone around. She did really enjoy the activities and helping people know what to do. Zach loved making the rounds and swiping candy from every person and table at the party. Every time I saw him he had a sucker in his mouth. There was candy galore which makes everyone happy at Halloween.

That is hilarious! Maybe Eric can be a grumpy 2 year old next year for Halloween.

I'm sure they all had a ball even if you didn't.
