- I take lots of deep breaths every day. I think I need to take about 364 more per day. Even that may not be enough.
- I really like unexpected and surprise phone calls.
- We've recently started watching a new show called Modern Family. Hysterical. It is perhaps one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. We've missed a lot of episodes, and Hulu only has so many of them. I'm trying to decide if I have the self-control to wait until the first season comes out on DVD to rent it or to just bite the bullet and pay the $1.99 per episode to watch it from Amazon.
- I'm really more of an idea girl. Follow-through is not so much my thing.
- The only thing worse than two snow days in a row is when the power goes out for two hours at dinner time near the end of the second day just when it is getting dark outside. It is then that you realize just how dependent your two-year-old is on screens. The poor kid was so bewildered. He simply could not understand why the computer wouldn't work, why the tv wouldn't work, why we were walking around in the dark, and why the lights wouldn't work when he kept trying to turn them on. We finally had to go out in the hallway to walk around in the glorious light thanks to the building's generator.
- We are so unprepared for a real emergency. I'm not sure we could survive for too long on just fruit snacks, raisins, crackers, and junk food. I should probably start working on that.
- I am so grateful for laptops, portable dvd players, crackers & cheese, generators, and a naturally warm apartment.

I agree with the whole being an "idea-girl" thing. So much easier to plan and make lists than to execute! I am also ill equipped to deal with a major disaster. I do, however, have a friend who's started selling freeze dried food for a company called "Shelf-Reliance." She says the stuff is delicious, keeps pretty much forever, and can be used in day-to-day cooking. Let me know if you want me to hook you up with her information. We'd still love to do a play date sometime if either of us can bear the commute!
