sarah b. jones
Lately, Sarah and I have been reading from a series of books called Junie B. Jones. A lot. She loves them. A lot. They are hysterical. Sometimes I have to stop reading because I am laughing so hard. Sarah giggles along with me. Sometimes I'm not sure she understands what I am laughing at so hard. Other times she laughs hysterically at things that only a four-year-old would think are funny--like stinky feet, a stinky bus, or other such nonsense. She wants to read them all the time. We usually read some before bed after scriptures and after she has read to me. Sometimes she can convince me to read them to her at other times during the day as well. We make it through a book every few days. Junie B. is a wild, funny, outrageously silly, always giving her parents a run for their money kind of girl. Does this sound like anyone you know? Perhaps someone that lives here at our house? I can just see Sarah getting into some of these scrapes just like Junie B. Occasionally, I change words when I read them. I usually change stupid or dumb into silly. David is bothered by Junie's incorrect use of adverbs, so I read those correctly too. I change some of her other grammar, as well. I'm excited to finish up crazy Junie B. in the next few months and move on to some other stories as well. Here are some chapter books/series I'd like to read with Sarah:

Currently we are reading Beezus and Ramona. I can recommend it. I'm happy to say we've moved on from a few Amelia Bedelias, thry're just okay.
