to utah and home again

Well, we made the trek to Utah for the holidays for two weeks. It was good to go home to visit, but I must say that it's good to be back home in NYC. (Don't tell my in-laws that I referred to NYC as home; I don't think they'll like it very much.) Grandma & Grandpa Vawdrey both put us up and put up with us for our visit. It was great to see family and friends, but it is so nice to be back here in our own digs. There's something to be said for having your own stuff around you. Now, I realize this may seem ridiculous as most of the stuff currently around us is actually not our own, but it is familiar and comfortable to us and where we belong for right now. (Side note: I also got to see my own stuff at Eric & Laura's place. She's done a great job with the stuff. Both David & I commented that their place is like our place, only better!) I love my shower! I love the abundance of hot water, the fierce water pressure, and the toasty towels (courtesy of the hot water pole) when I get out. I really like the king-size bed here in out sublet; there's so much room! I love that we have to open the windows and turn on the air conditioner in January because our apartment is so warm. I'm totally sleeping in capris and a t-shirt. I guess I just enjoy doing things my own way in my own place the way that I am used to.
