turning thirty

So today's the big day. I'm 30. 3. 0. No longer a twenty-something. It seems old, but I don't feel that way. I feel tired sometimes but not old. It's been a good thirty years. I've done some good things and enjoyed a lot of things. I've got a great family and have made some remarkable friends that will always be good friends no matter how far away they are. I've gone to school and studied something I truly enjoy. I've worked at a job I loved with people whom I care about. I've married a great guy. I've had two unique and sweet children who frustrate me sometimes but amaze me always. I've done some traveling. I've learned a lot of things. I'm excited to keep going, to see what new things may come in my life. I read somewhere that the number 30 brings luck and means that brilliant, creative things are on the horizon. I'd like to see what they are.

Happy birthday Alicia! I got to thinking about how long I've known you, and I think it's been 7 of those 30 years. I hope you have a great birthday!

Happy birthday to you!

When I mentioned to the kids this morning that it's your birthday, Ethan wanted to make you a cake. Alas, you're a little far away for a cake delivery, so we'll catch you next time your in town. Make David treat you to something yummy!

Happy Birthday! I don't think you could have done all that in a mere 29 years, so be proud of your 30! I also hope that David buys you some really expensive stuff for your bday :)

Happy Birthday! You have accomplished a ton and been so blessed in your life! It is so refreshing to hear someone be happy to be 30 rather than depressed. I am only a few short months away from 30 as well and I hope to have the same perspective you do. Hope you had a great day!
