thoughts on my run

I went on a run today for the first time in a loooooong time. I know I said I was going to start running again on March 1, but it turns out I'm a bit of a fair weather runner without my faithful treadmill. These were some of my thoughts as I ran along:
  • Wow, running uphill is harder than I remember.
  • Why am I the only 30-year-old on the planet who doesn't have an ipod or other such mp3 player? I should determine how much I will need to run in order to earn myself one.
  • Running is so in your mind and just a little bit in your body.
  • It really would have been smart to wear sunglasses.
  • I need to invest in some cool running clothes. I'm tired of looking and feeling frumpy when I run.
  • I miss my treadmill and my aerobics class. Somehow they made it so much easier to get up early in the morning.
  • Unfortunately, m&ms (despite their cuteness and tastiness) are not my friends--especially the peanut butter ones. Chocolate is bad even though it tastes so good.
  • I need to go to the farmer's market and buy more vegetables and fruits for snacking purposes.
  • I am going to be sore tomorrow!

I never thought I'd have much use for an iPod. Alan bought me one for my birthday last year and I love it! Makes the run go so much faster...or at least less boring.

Well, I don't have an iPod either. Occasionally I am priviledged enough to get to use Mark's. Since I don't listen to it all the time, I run harder when I do listen, but I like the quite a lot too -- clears my brain.

Gee, I typed "quite" instead of "quiet" -- oops!

You're super woman Alicia! I wish I could be more like you. And just so you know, we're among you- dying for an iPod, but not enough to actually buy one. Hopefully Father's Day?... Shhh! Don't tell Doug! :)
