We've been celebrating Halloween for several days now-so long, in fact, that Sarah has asked when Halloween is coming again as she thinks that it is now over. We went to a work Halloween party, a ward Halloween party, a Book Buddies Halloween party, and a special Halloween Lunch Bunch with cupcakes. Baby Zach slept through most of them, but I managed to catch a shot of him awake in his Halloween shirt from my friend, Jennie.
Sarah had to be a princess, of course. Here she is in all of her princess glory. She saw the dress at the Children's Place weeks ago and carried it around the whole store until I told her it was too expensive. I went back later without her and bought it when it had gone on sale (and I had a coupon). I put it in my closet for safekeeping. Somehow she discovered it and came to me one day, all excited, and said, "Mom, come see what is in your closet!" Little scamp!
Zach is a penguin-my choice, not his. I bought this costume long before he was born thinking that there was no way it would ever fit but determined that he would have a costume anyway. I put it on him the other day, and to my surprise, the little chub nearly fills it out!
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gateThe first one said, "Oh my it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don't care."
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some Halloween fun."
OOOoooooo! went the wind, and out went the light
As five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!
We're off to carve pumpkins, trick-or-treat, and go to a Halloween parade.
Happy Halloween!

"Come see what's in your closet". she kills me.
Sometimes I nearly kill her!
A penguin and a princess...you can't get a better combination than that!
I love that little poem! I'll teach it to Rachel when she gets home from preschool.
