I simply must give a shout out to pbs kids for two great shows we've discovered this week-Super Why and Word World. One was recommended by some friends (namely Peter of MIT); the other I just happened upon thanks to our TiVo. They are creative, entertaining, educational, and most important, all about reading. Sarah and I have both fallen in love with them. I'm not sure if they are new or if they just didn't broadcast them in Utah, but everyone with kids should check their local listings to see if pbs broadcasts them in their area. I know we've got our TiVo set to capture them, and I'm saving them all! I'm attempting to post a link to a selection on YouTube, and hopefully it will work.

We watch these two shows. They're new as of Labor Day 07. For Kate, I really prefer PBS to any other channel. I'm not sure how much of Word World Kate understands, but it'll come.
Jacob and I happened onto them a month or so ago. Jacob enjoys watching them when I can pry him away from the gamecube!
Bryn and Sarah will have so much to talk about next time they see each other. (you guys should take the chinatown bus up to Boston sometime- a real cultural experience!)
We're considering either the China Town bus or the boring old rental car, but one of these days (most likely in the spring) we will be there!
I just stumbled across Super Why this morning!! Rachel loved it.
