mornings at our house

When the baby wakes up in the morning (pretty much no matter what the time), I jump out of bed at the first cry and run in to get him. I do this in the hope that he will not awaken Sarah or any other members of the household. This probably sounds very selfless of me allowing them to get more sleep, but it is, in fact, for more selfish reasons. The way I figure it is that if I can get him and feed him and put him back to sleep before Sarah and David wake up, I can go back to sleep too! Occasionally, this theory even works out for me.

The past several mornings, however, I have been in for a bit of a surprise when I have gone in to get him at the first cry to find Sarah in his crib with him. So much for my theory! This also causes me to wonder whether Zach woke up by himself or had a little help from a very helpful big sister. This morning, however, she was helping out in the crib by giving him his binky after which he promptly returned to sleep for another half hour. She, of course, did not and instead demanded pancakes for breakfast as "It is Saturday, mom." Good morning to me and to you too!

I'll post a picture of the two crib dwellers soon (probably tomorrow morning) because I never think to grab the camera and snap a picture until after I have made her get out to prevent squishing the baby!

Too funny! Rachel jumped in with Katie a few times at first too until I scolded her enough times. I was most worried when she still had the cast on, which she swung around wildly and threatened the well being of Katie's skull with on a number of occasions.

That's cute, I know what you mean about the mornings. I do the same thing with Wyatt! THen I promptly get back in bed around 7, just as I hear Bianca saying, Mamma, I close my eyes to pretend I am sleeping so Daddy will get up with her and let me sleep in!
