So Sarah thinks that she is a princess and identifies herself as Princess Genevieve (a character in Barbie and the Twelve Dancing Princesses which she watches constantly). On most days she doesn't even make it until 12:00 noon before changing out of her clothes and into a princess dress. I'm not sure how this all happened as I have really tried to not emphasize the princess thing at all in our house. It simply must be genetic as I also loved to dress up in dresses as a child. According to my mother, I wore dresses constantly. I finally gave in recently when I realized that I was hopelessly losing the battle and bought her this assortment of princess shoes at Costco. She was perhaps the happiest child in the country on the day I brought them home for her; her face lit right up. She now wears them constantly around the house. She is now the proud owner of nearly a dozen assorted princess shoes and couldn't be happier. The shoe thing I know she gets from me-both by nature and by nurture.

So you've finally given in, eh? Congrats -- soon she'll own more shoes than you!
Do you think she would let me borrow the pink ones in the top left corner?
Oh, heavenly!! Rachel only has 2 pairs! I think the princess phase is really fun, and I can't wait to take Rachel to the princess lunch at Disneyland.
