what we've been doing

Grandma and Grandpa Vawdrey came out for a visit, so we've been busy. They've done the New York tourist thing before, so we've been showing them a different side of New York. We've been trying to show them kid-friendly New York as well as what it's like for us to live here. We've been back to the Children's Museum of Manhattan and the Museum of Natural History as they are about as kid-friendly as they come. We've also been to the New York Aquarium at Coney Island. This was a fantastic aquarium (one of the best in the country), and they were celebrating with lots of Halloween activities. We walked across the George Washington Bridge, went to the Little Red Lighthouse, took a trip to Book Buddies, and have visited several neighborhood parks. We took them with us to church today and took a nice walk home through Fort Tryon Park along the Hudson River. The weather has been beautiful and warm with changing leaves. Sarah thinks she has died and gone to heaven with grandma and grandpa to dote on her. I think that we're slowly changing grandpa's view of New York City. He has already admitted that people are nicer than he expected.

Wow - looks like SUCH a fun time! I love all the different sites you visited, especially Fort Tryon Park (it is incredibly beautiful there). What a great city we live in :)

Sounds like you kept Grandpa nice and busy. Hope that kept the fussing to a minimum for your sake ; ).
