belated happy birthday shout-out to Ricky

Yesterday was Ricky's birthday. I wanted to send him some happy birthday greetings yesterday but just didn't get around to it, so today I'll send him a belated happy day! For those of you who don't know Ricky, you are missing out. I just wanted to mention a few things about him.
  1. He is our favorite professor of accountancy around. Basically, this means that he can count really high. He also answers all of our financial and tax questions.
  2. Never cross Ricky as he is not likely to let it go. He has fought (nearly to the death-or at least to court) with cell phone companies and other people/companies who have tried to take advantage of him. These are great stories, so if you ever get the chance, ask him about them.
  3. He introduced Sarah to cookies and cream ice cream which is the only flavor of ice cream other than vanilla that she will eat. Sarah loves Ricky and used to get so excited whenever he would come over to our house.
  4. There is no one better than Ricky to eat pizza with and watch a basketball game.
  5. You can always count on Ricky to bring drinks to any event.
  6. He is an awesome football ref which also makes him fun to watch football with as he usually can make the calls before the ref in the game does.
Happy day to you, Rick! We hope it was a good one!

Oh - good ole' Ricky! We haven't seen him forever! I hope he is doing great. But an another note - thanks for saying hi on the blog. So, I feel super bad I didn't even know you were pregnant - let alone had another one until I read your blog. So, congrats on little Zachary! It's so good to see what you guys are up to. You're just awesome. I hope you're loving New York. We miss friends like you guys. Doug says that we're inviting ourselves to visit you someday soon! Hope that's okay! :)

Another interesting fact about Ricky is he shares a birthday with Fatty Matt Hansen of Denver, Colorado.

Also, about crossing Ricky, once we were playing Ultimate Frisbee and I had the task of guarding him. On that particular day I found I was able to keep up with him, which is surprising considering he was on the 4x100 m relay team in high school. I made the comment to somebody how he must be out of shape if I was able to keep up with him. Well, that comment got back to him and the next time we played he burned me on deep runs over and over again until I finally had to switch with someone else.
