We went to the dentist today. As you can imagine, it was loads of fun. We thought we would take advantage of the dental insurance before we drop the coverage. It was Sarah's first visit. She's been saying ever since I told her that we were going to the dentist that she wouldn't cooperate and wouldn't even open her mouth. To my surprise, however, she was a perfect angel! The dentist was very kid-friendly and introduced Sarah to Mr. Thirsty (the spit-sucker) and Mr. Cleany (the thing they use to clean your teeth). Sarah really liked how the chair moved up and down and leaned back. Lucky me-I got to be the guinea pig who got her teeth checked and cleaned while Sarah watched to see that it wasn't scary. The pressure on me to act like I was enjoying the whole procedure (which I obviously wasn't-who does?) was intense. After I was done, Sarah jumped right up into the chair to have her teeth "counted" and cleaned! What did I bribe her with? You know I did. She was rewarded with a beautiful princess toothbrush from the dentist and a new Barbie movie at home.

Why can't Norm just take a gander at her teeth every now and then?
Good job Sara,! I hope our first visit will be as pleasant.
Good idea, Eric! As soon as Norm knows something about dentistry, we will be going to him for sure!
Good job Sarah! Our kids actually like to go to the dentist too. They get tokens from Dr. Sorenson for being good that they can redeem for cheap toys. Plus they dig the TVs in the ceiling.
Thanks for the reminder that I need to go see the dentist -- I wish someone would bribe me with goodies if I behave!
