Well, we survived our first snowfall in New York. We woke up yesterday to an inch or so of the white stuff. Initially, I was kind of excited as it was another first for us here, and it was snow! I was hoping it would make things beautiful until it made them disgusting and dreary (you all know that's how snow goes). Plus, I'm thinking to myself that it will bring a little more holiday feeling to the world. Then we schlepped to church in the stuff-twice (once for church and once for tithing settlement). It wasn't awful, but it certainly was a bit trickier than usual. I'm pushing the stroller through the snow (a shout-out here to Maclaren for making a fabulous stroller that goes fairly well through snow, leaves, and other such stuff), and David is attending to Sarah who wants to alternately run in the snow and throw snowballs. The subway stairs were snowy and a bit treacherous-no broken bones to report here fortunately. It was freeeeeeeezing! There were two things to be happy about, however:
- Sarah didn't complain once about being cold due to her fancy shmancy new purple coat that she loves. I also don't remember her asking to be carried as it was much more fun to walk in the snow.
- The huge sidewalk in front of the church was nicely shoveled (the only real estate I saw shoveled on the way to church) by someone prior to our arrival. Thanks heavens for the Groundskeeper Willy calling in our building.

That's a beautiful shot.
I wish I had taken it. I found it on Google Images. It's the Brooklyn Bridge and seriously way too cold for me to be down in that neck of the woods.
