While I'm certainly grateful for new friends who are making my life here in a new place much more enjoyable, I'm especially grateful this month for old friends. It seems to me that the holiday season is a time for both family and friends, and as November began, we were anticipating a time where we would not be spending time with family and old friends as we usually do. For me, this was a big change. Then we were pleasantly surprised by unexpected visits from three old friends-some older than others, of course. We visited with a friend from high school whom I hadn't seen in about 8 1/2 years who was in town for business. We had some friends we've had for a couple of years from Salt Lake out to investigate a job opportunity. We also had some college friends come up from Boston to see us. Although David has seen them more recently, I haven't seen them in over 3 years. As I visited with these individuals, I couldn't help but think how lucky I am to have such great friends-from high school, from college, from work experiences, and from other times in my life. It's great to see old friends, to catch up, and to find that a strong friendship is there despite time and distance. Thanks to Kurt (& Heather); Spencer & Andrea; and Peter, Cami, Bryn, & Calvin for their friendship and for making our November one full of good old antique friendships!

I would say lucky us for knowing you all.
Thanks for feeding Kurt! He had a great time visiting you and said that Sarah is his new pal. He is actually there again right now and I told him to go check out the Christmas decorations in NYC after seeing your pics! Now I have to figure out a way to come with him so I can see you too!
