In honor of Labor Day, I decided to put Sarah to work and do a little less work myself. Isn't the point of having children to train them to work? This is Sarah making breakfast for us today. She got the duty of shredding the potatoes into hash browns and had a great time. She always wants to use the cheese shredder, but usually I don't let her. This morning she thought she had died and gone to heaven as she happily shredded away. Then she got to help with the laundry-always a favorite chore. Thank heavens we decided to pay a little extra for a washer and dryer in our apartment. Otherwise I'd be hauling a three-year-old, a bab
y, and all the laundry to the laundromat with a broken arm. That would certainly be a sight to see. She's getting pretty good at sorting the laundry into whites, lights, and darks. I only have to make a few adjustments. Here we have Sarah pictured getting every last white out of the laundry basket. Notice that she has tipped the basket over and practically climbed right inside. Look how proud she is that she had loaded it all in to the washer. A couple more weeks and perhaps we'll work on adding bleach and detergent! I wish! Look out Aunt Shara and cousin Jared-she's going to be the laundry champion of the Vawdrey family before long!

Nice to see you're getting some work out of her...tee hee : ). Rachel likes to help with laundry too, and I recently trained Ethan to fold his own clothes. I just have to look the other way and realize that they aren't going to be as neat as they could be, but he actually does pretty well.
I am sorry to hear about your arm, Alicia. It sounds like things are going really well for you all in NYC!
Y'all make New York look pretty good. I am throughly impressed with all that you've been able to get done in such a short time w/ 2 fairly major handicaps :) Thanks for keeping us posted.
no need to wash your knickers sarah I prefer them just the way you took them off
