flying solo

Well, I navigated the city and the subway system independently today with two children...and lived to tell about it. It wasn't nearly as difficult as I anticipated. The new stroller was a dream, and Sarah was quite cooperative. I made it to the public library, picked Sarah up from Book Buddies, and went to the Columbia Bookstore. We took the 1 train both ways even though it means a slightly longer walk; I think I will leave transferring trains for another exciting day. Hauling the stroller up and down the stairs into and out of the subway stations was, as I anticipated, loads of fun. I'm going to have to start lifting weights. Together, the stroller and the baby weigh probably only 15 pounds, and he's only going to gain weight. I can hardly wait until he's 20 pounds or more!
