I say yes. David says no. Sarah says yes. What do you say? Sarah even said that if he cries during the night (they are sharing a room currently) she will get up and just give him his binky. That right there could in fact be the deciding vote in favor of the binky. Of course, the kid doesn't really cry that much--usually only when he's hungry or very tired because his mean mom made him have some wake up time so he would sleep during the night instead of keeping night owl hours like his father. Honestly, I don't care whether we do the binky or not just as long as he doesn't suck his thumb!

to binky or not to binky?

Binky all the way!!! Spencer and Sydney were binky babies when they needed it and we took it easily away just after a year. Abbie on the other hand never cried so I never gave her a binky. She found her thumb at 10 weeks and slept 12 hours a night everyday after that. I chose sleep instead of breaking her of her thumb habit. She just turned 3 and the end is nowhere in site. Don't let him suck his thumb!! He'll find something to suck on if you don't give him the binky.
My kids vote yes on the binky matter. They both looooooved theirs. At 12 months I made them only binky and bedtime things, and took them away at 2 years. I don't regret one minute of peace and quiet. Katie wasn't as enthusiastic about it at first, but we've trained her to like it. A definite necessity for Alan's sanity once I go back to work in another week, and for car rides, etc.
I have to say yes too. If I didn't give Wyatt a pacifier, he would constantly want the bottle in his mouth. I think babies need to suck for comfort.
no binky mum I got something for him to suck on and he will LOVE it
